It's tearin' me apart

There are many thinks that frighten people about the future. Take the year 2012, for instance. No, not because Sarah Palin, or Mitt Romney for that matter, might have a shot at being the Republican nominee for President of the US. Rather, because that year represents the end of the Mayan calendar. Will the world come to an end on December 21, 2012? Let's hope not. Maybe the Mayan guy who was doing the calendar up just ran out of parchment, or whatever he was writing it down on. Similarly, some see the end of Broken Toyz as the end of the era of 80's metal. And I, for one, would find that just as scary.

To once again stoke my fears, we see the rise of the latest round of Toyz break-up rumours. Seems that last night's Morgan's show, which once again featured J.J. Gunns on guitar, has stoked the fire at just the right/wrong time. While we all know (or some of us do) that Tommy Gunns is off on another cross-genre sabbatical, honing his touch with the ladies of the cowgirl persuasion, it seems there was a more ominous sign over the weekend. Reportedly, J.J. and Likki were out moonlighting...in the same project!

Is there cause for concern here? Gunns, the elder, off traipsing across the country, a fresh piece of hay dangling from between his teeth! Gunns, the younger, teaming up with sometimes bandmate Stixx on a stage without Emaxx and Damage? What is going on here? While, outwardly, I remain confident that all is well in Toyz-ville, I must admit a small gnawing feeling in my gut. Of course, that could be from the bottle of Peruvian Pisco Emaxx and I polished off last night. I don't ever remember so enjoying something that tasted markedly like nail polish remover (and I do know what that tastes like...desperate times call for desperate measures...). But, I digress....

Rest easy kind souls, if, indeed, there arises some threat to the very existence of the mighty Toyz, you will hear of it first here and I promise to soften the blow (for the ladies, at least).

Sayonara...
